The licences offered here allow frequencies to be obtained for fixed satellite transmissions or for use for a limited time.
Fixed satellite The licence authorises the holder to use the frequency spectrum for the operation of an FSS (Fixed Satellite Services) radiocommunication network. The period for the award of a licence may vary from 2 weeks to 3 months, depending on any frequency coordination work which must be carried out.
Satellite radio for short-term events The short-term licence (maximum 1 month) authorises the holder to use the frequency spectrum for SNG (Satellite News Gathering) or VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) satellite transmissions.
Microwave Microwave radiocommunication allows the transmission of information from one point to another. Using directional antennas, radio waves are transmitted in beams on a carrier frequency, in the microwave range (generally between 1 and 40 GHz). The antennas used, predominantly parabolic, feature high directivity. They are installed in suitable locations so as to cover long distances (quasi-optical direct visibility). Despite large bandwidths, good directivity of antennas allows efficient use of the available frequency spectrum.
